What is klokánek
Klokánek is a project of the Fund for Endangered Children providing immediate help to children who suddenly find themselves without a safe home.
These are children who cannot remain in their families — due to neglect, violence, addiction, or an unexpected crisis.
Never by their own choice.
Never by their own fault.
Klokánek offers them a temporary home, where they can be children with names, stories, and emotions. Instead of institutional care, they live in ordinary apartments or houses, in small groups, with adults who are present in their everyday lives.
The purpose of Klokánek is not to “store” children.
Its purpose is to stabilise their situation, restore a sense of safety, and create the space needed to find the best possible long-term solution — reunification with family, foster care, or another form of permanent support.
Klokánek reflects why mySOLULU exists:
because some struggles are invisible, yet deeply life-shaping. And because children should never bear the consequences of failures they did not cause.
That is why we stand beside Klokánek as a partner.
STORIES
-
The Story of the Little Boy
He was just two years old when police brought him to Klokánek one spring evening. They had found him on the street with his mother, who was so intoxicated she could barely stand. The little boy ran around the station, restless and confused, lost in a world he couldn’t understand.
-
Little Jane’s Story
Little Jane was only five when her life fell apart. Both of her parents died from drug addiction. There was no one else. She was completely alone.
-
The Story of Four Siblings
One day, four children came through the doors of Klokánek: a six-year-old girl, two boys aged eight and twelve, and their big brother Matej, fourteen. They were inseparable - protecting each other fiercely. Their love for their mother was clear, and the separation from her was heartbreaking.

How can you help
Supporting Klokánek means helping children at the exact moment they need it most.
There are several ways to get involved — each of them matters.
Financial support
Donations help cover everyday essentials: housing, food, education, healthcare, and professional care for children in crisis.
Both one-time and regular contributions provide the stability Klokánek relies on to respond quickly when a child needs help.
Material support
Klokánek also welcomes practical help in the form of clothing, school supplies, household equipment, or other essential items that contribute to a safe and dignified daily life for children.
Professional and volunteer support
Experts and volunteers, from educators and therapists to legal and social professionals, play an important role in supporting children and the teams who care for them every day.
Corporate partnerships
Companies can support Klokánek through long-term partnerships, targeted financial contributions, or joint projects.
Meaningful corporate support helps ensure sustainability, and shows that responsibility goes beyond words.
Awareness and advocacy
Sometimes help begins with visibility.
Sharing information, opening conversations, and breaking the silence around vulnerable children helps reduce stigma and strengthens the network of support around them.
Because help that arrives in time can change everything
And because children should never have to wait for safety.
